At Smart Materials 3D we are dedicated to design , development and manufacturing of 3D printing filaments . Founded in 2014, Smart Materials 3D was born with the main idea of providing innovative solutions to the 3D printing market by creating plastic filaments for 3D printers, used both for the business sector and for individuals.
Our filaments are already used in sectors such as medicine, architecture, education, food or the automotive industry; being of vital importance for the development of new products in these different fields. 3D printing is undoubtedly one of the great technological revolutions of recent years, and it is not difficult to imagine that, in the not too distant future, most of the products we consume are as a result of this printing technique.

At Smart Materials 3d we work with a wide variety of raw materials, including some of them developed in-house by our team. Thanks to the quality of the selected raw material, we can develop various types of plastic filaments with different characteristics and qualities, which will finally be reflected in the final part created by the 3D printer.
Our production process begins with the modification of the polymers until the testing of the final product in printers. With these tests we look for the different parts created to adapt perfectly and fulfill their function in the printer to ensure that the best quality product reaches the end customer.
We currently work under two brands: Smartfil and Innovatefil.
Thanks to the versatility offered by Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology, we have infinite applications. From the manufacture of specific parts for the automotive sector or the manufacture of aircraft, to the reproduction of 3D radiographs used in medicine.
What is 3D printing?
The process 3D printing involves creating objects by vertically overlapping layers created from a specific plastic filament. Using a 3D modulation program, the software divides the graphic into extra-thin layers, superimposing one on top of the other to finally create the part in three dimensions.
The main function of the 3D printer is to convert the plastic filament from a solid to a liquid state. Once converted, the printer is responsible for converting it back into a solid state giving it the shape that we have previously designed.
This process can be repeated as many times as desired because these materials are completely recyclable.
