Smart Materials 3D Resin Castable is a blue wax-based photopolymer suitable for LCD / MSLA and DLP printers.

Printed parts capture intricate features and show details with razor sharpness.

It offers smooth surfaces that facilitate the optimal melting process.

It supports organic geometries with high resolution positive and negative engravings that will give your designs high detail.

It allows to create castings for jewellery, dental and industrial in a perfect way.

BENEFITS

HIGH ACCURACY

BASED ON WAX

SMOOTH, ASH FREE SURFACES

EXCELLENT ENGRAVING CAST

THE PERFECT RESIN FOR JEWELRY

Ideal temperature for use

Due to the high amount of wax, Castable will solidify around 17 to 18ºC.

For use in environments below 18ºC it is necessary to heat the product to its perfect viscosity, recommending a temperature of 20ºC as optimal.

To achieve this, we can leave it for 5 hours at room temperature or place it in its packaging in a warm environment. (Without direct light and perfectly closed) for 20 minutes at a maximum of 50ºC.

Quality recommendations

To achieve optimum results in casting, a layer thickness of less than 0.05mm and a perfectly calibrated printer are recommended.

You can write to us at info@smartmaterials3d.com to get the ideal parameters for your printer and how to calibrate it.

Details for perfect printing.

On some anodized aluminium surfaces such as the Elegoo Mars printer, the wax may suffer from low adhesion, so we recommend making some changes to the support.

The raft of the supports has a large area and often pulls on the platform part.

Changing the raft height and raft thickness to 0.1mm will fix most of these problems.

Part orientation

Depending on the type of geometry, a position is recommended for your pieces,

For this reason, we are going to name some of the most common cases like rings with engraving. In this case the orientation is very important. We advise to print them at an angle of 20 degrees instead of printing vertically.

This is because, this way we minimize the possibility of overcuring the engravings.

In this example, we show the best orientation graphically:

Post-Processing of Smart Materials 3D Castable

It is essential that the pieces after washing and drying must have with a matt surface finish and not sticky.

Excess resin or sticky surfaces can react with the investment material and create pores in the castings.

It is important to use the anti-aliasing or blur parameters so that the printed parts do not show visible layers, since these layers will be reproduced in the final casting.

CASTABLE

Resin designed to carry out the lost wax process, capable of capturing complex characteristics of the piece and clearly capturing its details. Indicated for the creation of molds for jewellery, dental pieces, or industrial pieces.
