We provide a large selection of resins from Smart Materials 3D for various applications. From setting up the printer to post-processing, we have outlined the key steps of printing with Smart Materials 3D resins in this article.

Choosing the appropriate resin for the print you want to create is one of the most crucial aspects of resin printing. Users can choose the ideal resin for their projects thanks to the wide selection of options Smart Materials 3D offers for various applications. In this instance, a decorative object was printed using resin from the Standard range.

The first step in the resin printing process is setting up the printer and making sure that all the parts are correctly put together and that the printing surface is clear and level. Before adding the resin to the printer's tank, it should first be stirred to ensure that it is evenly distributed and that there is enough for the intended print.

Printing can start after the printer has been set up and the resin has been positioned. A UV light from the printer will solidify the resin in layers until the entire object is formed. Contrary to filament FDM printers, resin printers can print quickly regardless of the quantity of objects on the build platform.

To guarantee the quality and longevity of the printed object, post-processing must be carried out after the print is finished. During this procedure, the resin may be further cured with UV light, the printed object may be washed to remove any remaining uncured resin, and the object may then be given a final polish to remove any flaws.

In the attached video, the post-processing process is shown in detail. You can see the print being cleaned with alcohol, washed in a tank of alcohol, and cured with additional UV light. Once the curing process is complete, the print supports can be removed and the support contact areas sanded down. In this way, a perfect print ready for its final use is obtained.
